About

Luiz's passion for photography ignited in 2005 when he first picked up a compact point-and-shoot digital camera. Since then, his curiosity has explored a diverse range of subjects, from expansive landscapes to unfiltered realities of urban life. It was under the guidance of renowned Brazilian photographer and filmmaker Paulo Vainer that Luiz refined his skills, learning the nuances of composition, lighting, and post-production.

In 2007, while still an undergrad student, Luiz won his first national photography contest, earning himself a trip to Barcelona — a pivotal moment that fueled his passion for traveling and broadened his creative horizons. In 2009, his work was exhibited alongside other emerging talents in Madrid as part of The Santander Foundation's Fototalentos Exhibition.

From documenting the impact of human intervention on nature in the Serra da Capivara National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to covering events of public interest for São Paulo's Department of Culture, Luiz's photography seeks out hidden moments of contemplation and stories of human connection.

Since 2022, Luiz has been living in London, and this move marks the beginning of a new chapter, offering a glimpse into the most personal, prolific, and previously unseen works — an exploration of an ever-evolving photographic craft.
